Members of the Board and their brief background

 

Brain Child of the Visionary Founder Chairman Late Er. Babu P. Thomas.

            The man who changed every problem into a project was born on August 8th 1951, as the elder son of Late Mr. P. O. Thomas and Mrs. Annamma Thomas. He took BE Degree in Mechanical Engineering from T.K.M College of Engineering, Kollam. He worked in gulf countries as Project Manager of reputed companies till 1987. After returning from Gulf, he formed the Palazhi Group and engaged in Hotel and Tourism Development field. He was an active social worker and have deep concern for the poor and weaker sections of the society. He was one of the promoters of the Kairali Malayalam Channel (Kairali).                                                                                                                                                                     
           

           

Babu P. Thomas along with a group of Engineers formed the Caarmel Educational Trust and engaged in the activities of starting an Engineering college, obtained approval from AICTE to start the Caarmel Engineering College in 2002 - 03. Babu P. Thomas died on 7th July 2002.                                                           .

Mrs.Gracy Babu – Chairperson

 

Mrs.Gracy Babu is a B.A. (Economics) graduate from Assumption College Changanaserry. She was born at Pathanapuram (Kollam district) as the third daughter of Mr. K.A Mathai who is a notable businessman. She was married to Er. Babu P Thomas, who was the Founder Chairman of the Trust and the College. Apart from being the Chairperson, she is effectively taking care of the business enterprises of her husband Late Er. Babu P Thomas (Dealership in IBP, Adoor Towers, Palazhi Lodging, Plantations at Laha). Presently she is the Chairperson of Caarmel Educational Trust and Caarmel Engineering College
